The Canaanite Woman and Sojourner Truth

The story of Jesus and the Canaanite woman always bothered me - The woman from Canaan asked Jesus to heal her daughter and Jesus, at first, refused and compared the woman to a dog! In the spirit of strong women everywhere, the Canaanite woman refused to let him get away with it. Jesus relented and she got what she wanted, her daughter restored and her humanity acknowledged.
