Rest in peace, Frere Roger

In 1940, Brother Roger founded the community of Taize, in the beautiful countryside of Burgundy in eastern France. Since then, he preached peace and reconciliation and built a movement that engaged the faith of young people from all over the world. Every summer, over 50,000 visit this picture perfect village. They come to pray and sing a better world into being.

Brother Roger was stabbed to death last night while at prayer. He was 90 years old and did only good in the world. Thank you, mon frere, for the gifts you gave us. May you join with the saints in light and rest in perfect peace.
